This season boasts of electrifying, foot-tapping, finger-snapping music of jazz, gospel, hip-hop, reggae, “ole skool” R&B, “Italian Night”, “Caribbean Night” and so much more! The series launched on July 2nd with the excitement of smooth & sexy jazz tunes from Mount Vernon native son, Rocky Middleton, also the sassy sounds of the all-woman band, SAGE.
As the enthusiasm continues, so does the anticipation of Thursday, August 18th as Sam Taybron, who stems from Queens, NY will hit the stage in the greatest of ease … Taybron recently launched his sophomore cd entitled “Love Station”, which contains a plethora of “love songs” that warms the heart … to start the night. Williams is the nephew of legendary jazz singer Ella Fitzgerald. What a night THAT is going to be!! …

AO3 Update: The AO3 Classic Car Motorcade with Al B. Sure – Saturday 11:00 a.m.
Al B. Sure Cruising in the ARTS ON THIRD Classic Cars! (Mount Vernon, NY) – This Saturday, September 5th at 11am, the steps of City Hall are the backdrop for “The AO3 CLASSIC CAR MOTORCADE” hosted by Mount Vernon’s own Al B. Sure. The motorcade of cars is being organized by the Festival Committee and Doc’s Auto Repair to promote the eight classic cars to be on display in “Artists Row” at this Sunday’s “Arts on Third” Festival.
The classic cars will roll the streets of Mount Vernon as a reminder to come out this Sunday for “Arts on Third”. The cars to be displayed in “Artist Row” include a 1959 Pontiac Bonneville, a 1970 Buick Electra Convertible, a 1965 El Dorado and a 1960 Thunderbird. Doc’s Auto Repair, located at 210 South Fourth Street, and his friends are providing the cars. Asked what makes a classic car, Doc, a professional auto mechanic for over 20 years, stated “any car over 25 years old makes it a classic but it’s the condition it is in that makes it special”. The Classic Car Club of America defines them as “a fine or distinctive automobile, either American or foreign built, produced between 1925 and 1948. Other factors come into play such as custom coachwork, luxury accessories, etc.”. Doc went on to comment, “Imagine…these cars were approximately $3,000 back in the day…now they are worth well over $25,000”. So come cruising with Doc, his friends and their fabulous classic cars this Saturday, September 5th and be sure to visit them on display at “Arts on Third” this Sunday, September 6th 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm.
The “Arts On Third” festival is Westchester County’s largest and most prestigious cultural celebration and attracts over 75,000 attendees. The festival presented by Mount Vernon’s Mayor Ernest Davis, the Mount Vernon Arts Council and Montefiore Hospital, boasts three continuous stages: The Headliner Stage, The Power Industry Stage hosted by New York’s Hip Hop and R & B Station, Power 105.1 FM and The Cultural Stage.
