Danielle Browne, Esq.

City Council
Title: President
Browne

Committed to the social and economic growth of her hometown Mount Vernon, New York, Danielle Browne is a public servant, lawyer, and entrepreneur. She is the founder of The Browne Firm PLLC, a law firm, which specializes in handling trademark matters, helping startups launch effectively, and advising clients on estate planning.

This last area dovetails closely with the importance Browne places on strengthening community. She finds the opportunity to help clients protect the transfer of generational wealth—which also allows a family to better manage the inevitable end-of-life grieving process—a profound aspect of her professional career.

After graduating from Mount Vernon High School, Browne attended Barnard College, Columbia University, where she served as a captain of the women’s basketball team and finished her career as the program’s all-time leader in games played. She then earned her law degree graduating cum laude from the University of Miami School of Law.

Before returning to New York, she served as the head of business and legal affairs for the WNBA’s Atlanta Dream and co-founded the DO Strategy Group, which specialized in corporate formation and branding. She also provided pro bono services to charitable organizations, including helping low-income entrepreneurs establish successful businesses and litigating for economically disadvantaged individuals struggling with consumer debt.

After some success in the business world, Browne decided to return to Mount Vernon to invest in the place she always called home. This sense of commitment quickly led her to become involved in local government. She served on the Mount Vernon Police Reform Commission established in the immediate aftermath of the murder of George Floyd. Then, in 2021, she was overwhelmingly elected as a member of Mount Vernon City Council to be an agent for lasting political change. She ran a campaign to bring a new generation demanding unity, integrity, innovation, and professionalism into positions of power.

Browne continues her dedication to supporting families, businesses, artists, and the community as a whole—both as a legal advocate and public servant.
