Mount Vernon, Police Department Detectives, is investigating a shooting that injured one man.Shortly after 12:30 PM, Mount Vernon Police Officers were dispatched to Garden Avenue and East 4th Street on a report of shots fired. Officers were also advised that a male victim was being taken to Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds. Detectives and Officers who arrived at the hospital located the victim, 18-year-old Tomani Turner, suffering from two gunshot wounds to the torso. Detectives learned Mr. Turner was shot on Garden Avenue just south of East 4th Street. Mr. Turner is expected to survive but was listed in Critical condition.Mount Vernon Detectives from the Violent Crime Unit are investigating this incident with the assistance of the FBI Westchester Safe Streets Task Force.Mount Vernon Police ask that anyone with information regarding this incident contact the MVPD Detective Division at 914-665-2510.
