3 Kings Day



The Recreation Department in collaboration with Westchester Latinos Unidos and Montefiore Einstein hosted their annual 3 Kings Day Event at the Doles Center. The event lasted from 6 pm to 7:30 pm. In honor of 3 kings Day, a book trading about the 3 kings was read aloud to the children in attendance. Actors in costume played out the narrations of the story in real time capturing the attention of the audience. 

This was an event was free of admission and featured a toy giveaway and book giveaway. Over 200 toys were given away throughout the duration of the event.  There were traditional 3 Kings Day refreshments served such as tres leches, flan, and many other tasty treats.

Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard said ,”We’re really happy that the city of Mount Vernon is celebrating the rich diversity of its community. We want to celebrate all holidays to make everyone feel included and welcomed. I want to thank Westchester Latinos Unidos and Westchester toys for tots for collaborating with us. As always thank to our recreation staff for making this happen.“

We'd like to thank everyone who attended this event for coming out. Thank you to our staff for putting this amazing event together. We hope everyone enjoyed  their time and we hope that the all of children enjoy their new toys!
