Mount Vernon, NY (12/23/2022)- The city of Mount Vernon collaborated with some of our local elected officials for Soul Santa Winder Wonderland Toy Giveaway. The event was hosted at American Christmas right here in Mount Vernon. It was a festive event that poured cheer into everyone who attended regardless of age.

 The line to enter Santa’s workshop was long but, kids got to enjoy some hot cocoa and snacks while they patiently waited their turn. Thank you to our wonderful Recreation staff for hosting a toy drive leading up to this wonderful event. Over 600 toys were given away at the event and 24 bikes were raffled away at the 3-hour event. Kids and adults alike were excited to take pictures with Santa and one of his helpers. This event was a true reminder of why this is the most wonderful time of the year. Thank you to Mayor Shawyn Patterson-Howard, Comptroller Darren Morton, Congressman Jamaal Bowman, NYS Senator Jamaal Bailey, NYS Assemblyman J. Gary Pretlow, Legislator Tyrae Woodson-Samuels, and Legislator David Tubiolo for making this event possible
