This has been a busy Thanksgiving week for the City of Mount Vernon. On Monday November 21st, the City of Mount Vernon hosted a Turkey Giveaway at City Hall. Over the span of the 4-hour event we gave away 600 turkeys to Mount Vernon residents. Thank you to Stagg Group, Assemblyman Pretlow, Congressman Bowman, and Senator Bailey for sponsoring this event.
On Tuesday November 22nd, the City of Mount Vernon hosted two events both located at the Doles Center. The first event was a luncheon for our seniors where they enjoyed lovely meals prepared by our recreation staff, conversed amongst each other, and played bingo. The second event was a Thanksgiving Dinner Giveaway that was sponsored by Senator Bailey, Assemblyman Pretlow, and County Legislator Woodson-Samuels. We served collard greens, turkey, macaroni and cheese, stuffing, yams, and more. We are proud to say that all our Thanksgiving events were a success!
