The Mount Vernon Youth Bureau staff, CTC members and law enforcement received Youth Mental Health First Aid training from WJCS through a SAMHSA grant they received in the fall of 2021. This grant allowed the agency to offer trainings in YMHFA focusing primarily on youth service providers. Youth Mental Health First Aid training courses are designed to teach people how to approach, assess, and assist a person who is developing mental health or substance use challenge or in a mental health or substance use crisis.
