Youth and adult supporters pictured with former NY Knicks star, Charles Oakley at his recent book signing. Young adults from the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau Gun Violence Prevention (G.V.P) were in attendance both in-person and virtually.
They had the opportunity to ask Mr. Oakley about his new book, his childhood, being a professional athlete and get advise on various life topics. G.V.P is a new initiative in which participants between the ages of 18-24 within the 10550 .

and communication skills, supportive services focused on social and emotional needs and placement in good paying jobs. The program is funded through the NYSDOL and the Westchester-Putnam Workforce Development Board.
