The manhole explosion on Gramatan Avenue left two Con Edison electric feeders out of service, affecting service to A.B. Davis Middle School, the MTA and 203 Gramatan Avenue. As part of their recovery effort, Con Edison will be installing a temporary electric generator to provide uninterrupted service to these locations during the repairs. The temporary generator will be set up in the Northbound lane of Gramatan Avenue near 659 Gramatan Avenue between Birch Street and Orchard Street beginning this morning Friday, December 13, 2019. Parking will be restricted in this area and a lane shift will be established to allow the road to stay open with a single lane of traffic in both directions. Con Edison is still in the discovery phase of their restoration work and details on the duration of the traffic interruption will be updated as they are received by Department of Public Works, from Con Edison.
