Mount Vernon Public Library to Present Play by Pulitzer Prize Winner

“Time Stands Still,” a play by Pulitzer Prize winning playwrite Donald Margulies, will be performed at the Mount Vernon Public Library on Saturday, November 2nd at 2:00pm in the Library’s Grace Baker Community Room.

The play is about changing relationships and developing social issues after a journalist returns home from Iraq after suffering injuries and her boyfriend, who has witnessed a traumatic event of his own, tries to take care of them both. Their longtime friend and editor and his much younger girlfriend, in turn, play an integral role in the couple’s evaluation of their relationship and future together.

The play, which was nominated for two Tony Awards for Best Play and Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Play, contains strong language and themes, and is not suitable for younger patrons.
