Mount Vernon Senior Programs Weekday Lunch Group – A Place for City Seniors to Meet

Mount Vernon seniors can now get together for a Weekday Lunch Group conveniently meeting in Senior Centers located in the city. The Armory located at 144 North 5th Avenue and the Doles Community Center at 260 South 6th Avenue offer seniors nutritious meals for a daily voluntary contribution of $2.00.

The centers also offer health workshops, medicare/medicaid information, and glucose/blood pressure screening every week. Other activities include computer classes, quilting classes, dominoes, bingo, card playing, line dancing, bocce ball, exercise, ceramic classes, arts & crafts classes, and Zumba Gold dancing.  Seasonal parties, entertainment, special events, day and overnight trips have been a big hit at both locations.

Registration is required in order to participate in senior programs offerings. Contact the Armory Programs for Seniors/Office for the Aging at 914.665.2435 or the Doles Center Senior Programs at 914.665.2447.
