Lights Coming Back On Across the City – 11/8/2012

Priority jobs are wrapping up and now Con Edison can focus attention on addressing single service issues which continue to keep some cutomers in the dark. Last evening’s unexpected nor’easter did not impede the progress of restoration although 2 trees fell last night and countless wires were hanging low this morning from the weight of wet snow.

There have been  concern about hanging wires. Be reminded that other utility companiesalso service the city. We have been working directly with Con Edison to correct problems regarding their wires and service. Please contact your cable and/or telephone company to alert them of broken lines that may be affecting their services to  you.

South 6th Avenue/Kingsbridge Road – Poles will have to be replaced and wires rehung.

Ehrbar Avenue – One building still remains without power. Transformer will be replaced.

East Third Street – Fuse replaced. Power Restored.

South Columbus Avenue – Repair work to continue tomorrow to restore service.

Prospect/East Sidney/Darwood Avenues – Fuses replaced.

Prospect Avenue/Portugal Place – Traffic light problem corrected.

Hayward Avenue – Possible blown fuse to be inspected tomorrow.

We know it has been tough for residents experiencing outages. Remember to contact Con Edison if you are without service as the system will automatically drop your complaint once service within your are has been restored. By calling you will reactivate your service ticket or generate one if you haven’t contacted them.

As of this posting approximately 97% of the city has been restored.
