2008 Summer Breeze Concert Series at City Hall Plaza
Free Outdoor Concert Series in Downtown Mount Vernon, NY
June 25th Through August 23rd
Downtown Mount Vernon, NY will come alive this summer once again with the 2008 Summer Breeze Concert Series, featuring seventeen evening performances over eight weeks every Tuesday and Saturday, June 25th – August 23rd, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm.
Produced by the Department of Recreation, the series features an all-star lineup of popular New York artists that will infuse downtown Mount Vernon with samba, jazz, folk, opera, reggae, swing and other popular music styles. Nonprofit organizations will be featured at every concert, with information and giveaways.
The 2008 Summer Breeze Concert Series features 17 evening performances during the months of July and August. These free, family-friendly concerts alternate on Tuesdays (Jazz Tuesdays) and Saturdays (World Music Saturdays). The concerts take place outdoors on City Hall Plaza, 1 Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon, NY 10550.
The concert series is sponsored in part by JP Morgan Chase, The Wartburg Adult Care Community, Hudson Valley Bank, The Bozeman Law Firm, NY State Senator Ruth Hassell-Thompson, and NY State Assembly Man J. Gary Pretlow. "Jazz Tuesdays" are produced by Jazz Forum Arts with support from NYSCA and the Westchester Arts Council's Municipal Challenge Grant, Funded by Fuji Photofilm, USA.
