Safe Haven Program

The Safe Haven Program is operated and funded by the Mount Vernon Youth Bureau through a grant provided by the Westchester County Youth Bureau through their Invest in Kids program. We meet year round in both an after school setting and a summer camp program.  The current site for the camp is Longfellow Middle School.  We accept all Mount Vernon residents ages seven to twelve years old.

At Safe Haven, we offer variety of important services to our children. One essential service provided by Safe Haven staff is daily homework assistance. Our staff works diligently to help all our children in the areas of academics, youth development and leadership building.  We also provide social skills and opportunities for promoting self esteem.  Through a series of trips and workshops the children are able to explore different cultures and learning experiences.

If you would like to join us for this program, please fill out the application and return to the Youth Bureau in City Hall, Room308.

You can find the application on our e-gov page - click here.
