2nd Deputy Commissioner


Jonathan Logan is a lifelong resident of Mount Vernon who decided to continue his public service career with the City of Mount Vernon after retiring from the United States Army in 1997.

Commissioner Logan’s military career included service during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. He has received numerous awards and medals and was in charge of the Army Medical Center’s Pulmonary Disease Service in San Antonio Texas prior to his retirement. Jonathan received his Associate and Bachelors degree from Wayland Baptist University while on active duty.

In January 1999, Commissioner Logan was appointed Director of the Mount Vernon Veterans Service Agency. During his brief tenure, Jonathan established himself as a staunch advocate for Mount Vernon Veterans.

In June of 2000, Jonathan was promoted to the position of 2nd Deputy Commissioner in the Planning Department. Commissioner Logan has the responsibility of overseeing the daily operations of the Mount Vernon Parking Bureau. This agency has the responsibility of issuing parking tickets and maintaining the various city owned parking lots.

Jonathan is married and lives in Mount Vernon with his family.
