The Center City Improvement Program ("CCIP") is under the auspices of the Mount Vernon Urban Renewal Agency ("URA").

The CCIP is a comprehensive revitalization plan for Mount Vernon's Central Business District. The plan includes specific proposals to acquire property, demolish dilapidated buildings, sensitively relocate families and businesses and to redevelop and rehabilitate the Downtown and abutting residential areas. Funding is a combination of public and private sector dollars. Public funds totaling about $6 million have been expended utilizing Community Development Block Grant ("CDBG") Program monies.


Through it all PCD demonstrates its commitment to furthering the physical, social and economic development of the Mount Vernon community.
