Anonymous Tip
Mount Vernon Police Utilizes Anonymous Text Tips via tip411
Public can share information about crimes and suspicious activity from their cell phone
The Mount Vernon Police Department now allows the public to share important public safety information anonymously with police by sending them a secure text message about crimes or suspicious activity.
We launched tip411, an internet based tool from CitizenObserver that enables the public to text message an anonymous tip to police and lets officers respond back in real-time to create an anonymous two-way conversation.
Anyone with a cell phone may send an anonymous tip to us by texting MVPD and their message/tip to 847411 (tip411). Anonymous web tips can also be submitted right from the Police Departments website at www.cmvny.com.
The tip411 system is 100% anonymous, as the technology removes all identifying information before police see it and there is no way to identify the sender.
The service works with both Apple and Andriod operating systems.
For Emergencies, Dial 911 Immediately!
