Memorial Day Parade seeks participants for May 29, 2017 event

memorialday

For the first time ever, we will have Macy’s style parade balloons and local news coverage! This is an excellent opportunity for your organization or business to show its support for the Mt. Vernon Veteran community.

We are currently accepting applications for registration in the parade. Performance acts, floats, drum-lines, bands, vehicles, dancers, cheerleaders,
community organizations,
businesses, and others are encouraged to register
to participate in this parade honoring those that have made the ultimate sacrifice.

The Mount Vernon Veterans Service Agency (VSA) and Central Committee for Veterans Affairs (CCVA) under Mayor Richard Thomas present the annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 29, 2017 @ 9:30 am.

There is NO FEE for registration/ participation in the 2017 Memorial Day Parade or for your group to attend.

NEW FOR 2017 – Macy Style Parade Balloons – Corporations Needed!

Companies and Corporations this is a great opportunity for you display your civic pride by sponsoring a Balloon Float. For the first time in Mount Vernon’s history, the Memorial Day Parade will have larger than life balloons similar to those in the Macy’s Day Parade in NYC. Each balloon will need 6 – 24 persons to hold the balloon in place. This is a great volunteer opportunity for your administrators and staff. Area businesses will have a unique opportunity to sponsor these balloons and take part in the day’s events honoring veterans that have made the ultimate sacrifice. By investing in one of the outlined sponsorship packages, your company can be a part of the publicity surrounding this wonderful event and show support for the veteran community – while advertising your business.

For information please call 914-665-2391.
