Request for Proposals – CDBG Home Investment Partnerships Program – Program Review & Technical Assistance

The City of Mount Vernon Urban Renewal Agency is seeking proposals from qualified firms for professional services consisting of program review, the development of written policies and procedures, and technical assistance related to the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Community Development Block Grant Program and HOME Investment Partnership Program.

The Urban Renewal Agency administers federal funds that the City receives from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the following two program: Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) and the HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME).

The primary purpose of the services solicited in this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to assist the Urban Renewal Agency staff in creating efficient systems for long and short term compliance and monitoring of funded or contemplated projects. It is expected that any respondent to this RFP will have extensive programmatic experience with HUD programs.

All costs incurred by proposing firms are considered by the City to be marketing costs required in order to select a firm to perform this work, and the City will not reimburse any proposing firm for any costs incurred.

State of the City Address

Mayor Richard Thomas will deliver his State of the City Address to the City Council tonight March 14, 2018 at 7:00pm in the City Council Chambers. All Citizens are encourage to attend.  This action is being perform per  City Charter Article VI §63 below

Duties of the Mayor; messages.

[Amended by L.L. No. 9-1960; L.L. No. 1-1972]
It shall be the duty of the Mayor to see that the City officers and departments faithfully perform their duties; to maintain peace and good order within the City; to take care that the laws of the state and the ordinances of the City Council are executed and enforced within the City; to communicate by written message to the City Council at a regular meeting in March and at such other times as he may deem proper, a statement of the finances and general condition of the affairs of the City with such recommendations in relation thereto as he may deem proper; to give such information in relation to the same as the City Council may from time to time require; and to call a special meeting of the City Council whenever in his judgment it is required by public necessity.

Special Mount Vernon City Council Committee Meeting

There will be a Special Mount Vernon City Council Committee Meeting on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the Memorial Room, City Hall, Mt. Vernon, New York. The City Council will be meeting with the Chairs of the Zoning and Planning Boards to discuss Land Use Procedures.

A Con Edison contractor will be working in your neighborhood for the next several weeks on a gas construction project. The work is scheduled to start Monday, February 26, with an anticipated completion within 6 weeks.

While we work, we’ll need to store supplies and equipment along the road in some areas. We also may need to excavate your sidewalk, driveway or lawn area. If your property is affected, we will restore it.

If you have questions about the upcoming work, or private facilities buried in your lawn, such as sprinkler lines or electric dog fences, you may reach CustomerQuestions@coned.com

During the work, we may need to interrupt gas service temporarily. We will notify you in advance if your service will be affected. We will need access to your home to restore your gas service, and we will work with you to accommodate your schedule. If you are not home when work is completed and need your service restored, or have questions about landscaping or paving restoration after the work is completed, please call 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633) referencing the job identification number listed above. Please note that there is usually a delay between the end of the project and the final landscaping or paving restoration, which is completed by different contractors.
