Special City Council Meeting

A special meeting of the City Council will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018 at 5:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers- located on the 2nd Floor of City Hall- for the purpose of approving a resolution transferring the renovation of Memorial Field from the City of Mount Vernon to the County of Westchester, and any other business that may be presented before said meeting.

Special City Council Meeting

A special City Council meeting will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. in the City Council Chambers for the purpose of adopting an ordinance authorizing the Mayor to enter into an agreement with Westchester County for the “Fun Filled Summer Programs”, and any other business that may be presented before said meeting.

Special Board of Estimate and Contract Meeting

A special meeting of the Board of Estimate and Contract will be held on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at 5:20 p.m. in the Mayor’s Conference Room, First Floor, City Hall, Mount Vernon, New York.  The purpose of the meeting is to set the rate to retain attorneys.

City Council Special Meeting following the Presentation of Canal Village

Please be advised that the Mount Vernon City Council  will be receiving  a presentation  study report tonight April 30, 2018 at 6:30 pm  from the Department of Planning’s Consultant team.  The study is concerning the Draft nomination for the Canal Village Revitalization Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) and Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP).

Immediately following, the City Council will have a Special Meeting for the purpose of adopting an “Ordinance granting permission to the Recreation Department to Co-Sponsor Summer Fun at Hartley Park with the Westchester Jewish Community Services” and any other such business to come before the City Council.

City Council Meeting Notice

The City Council will be hosting a presentation on Monday, April 30, 2018 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, Mount Vernon, New York for the purpose of receiving the report of the draft nomination for the Canal Village Revitalization Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) and Local Waterfront Revitalization Program (LWRP).

All are invited to attend the presentation.

City Council Honoring Ceremony

The City Council is pleased to announce the honorees of the 2018 Spring Honoring Ceremony which will be held during a regular City Council meeting on Wednesday, April 25, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers.  Twice each year, Council Members honor individuals and organizations who have made valuable contributions to the Mount Vernon community.  Honorees are:

  1. Andre Brown-Dubose, Director of Collin Allen Day Care Center;
  2. Association of Community Based Artists of Westchester (AC-BAW);
  3. James McMillian, Coach of the Mount Vernon Razorbacks;
  4. Bishop Errol O’Savio, Senior Pastor of the Mount Olivet Apostolic Church;
  5. The Forward Thinkers.

All are invited to join the City Council as they recognize these esteemed individuals/organizations.
