As part of our ongoing efforts to improve our Minority and Women's Business Enterprise ("M/WBE") program, we have and plan to load this site with features designed to provide a user-friendly experience for all of our visitors.

 

You will find information related to the certification process, resources for technical assistance, access to capital, contract opportunities, M/WBE events, and an improved vendor registry search tool to help you find certified M/WBEs.

 

The mission of the "M/WBD" program is to promote equality of economic opportunities for M/WBEs and to eliminate barriers to their participation in state and local contracts. The M/WBD is committed to achieving my vision for increasing opportunities for the City Of Mount Vernon’s M/WBEs.

 

The M/WBD program will perform three major functions: 1. To encourage and assist departments, developers and agencies that are engaged in contracting activities to award a fair share of local contracts to M/WBEs. 2. To review applications by businesses seeking certification as an M/WBE and to maintain a directory of certified M/WBEs. 3. To promote the business development of M/WBEs through education and outreach to city departments, developers, local agencies and M/WBEs.
