Will DuBose, Director

Will DuBoseIn May 2000 Will was appointed Director for the City’s Veterans Service Agency. Prior to this appointment, Will DuBose held numerous positions within the private sector over 27 years. He came with an extensive background in auditing, accounting, human resource programs, finance, and computer systems.

As director, he acts as a liaison between veterans, their dependants and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs. Mr. DuBose provides guidance and preparation for VA forms for entitlements, benefits, and legal documents. He received certification as a Service Officer with the American Legion and Department of New York, VFW. He coordinates several annual ceremonies in liaison with Central Committee for Veterans Affairs. He is a life member of Aaron A. Lewis VFW Post #6396.

Mr. DuBose’s commitment to community service is evidenced by his involvement in numerous organizations. He served as the Chairman of Mount Vernon Boys and Girls Club from 1992-1995. He is a member of the 369 Veteran’s Association. From 1995 to 1999, he served as Regional 1 Director for Johnson C. Smith University Alumni Association (CT-NY-NJ-PA-DE).

Mr. DuBose has received numerous award, citations, local and congressional proclamations. He is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., a public service fraternity.

He earned an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts from Friendship Junior College in Rock Hill, South Carolina and a Bachelor Degree in History from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition, he has certifications in computer systems and financial management.
