Volunteers Wanted to Install Smoke Detectors

Most of us are familiar with the devastation that lies in the wake of fire, and while no one knows when such a disaster will strike, we can, as responsible members of society, do things to prevent possible loss of property and/or life. For those of you who are interested in volunteering for a worthwhile cause that will help others in our community, consider joining the Mount Vernon Fire Department, the Office of Civil Defense Department and the American Red Cross at a Home Fire Preparedness Campaign recruitment drive on Thursday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.

Come out and join us for a life-saving fire safety campaign to install smoke detectors in high risk areas of our city. Please share this invitation with members of your organization and feel free to distribute the attachments within your neighborhood.
