Public Notice #1 Public Hearing Con Plan – In English and Spanish
Westchester Residential Opportunities Inc. (WRO) will be coming to Mount Vernon City on Tuesday, March 31st from 10am to 4pm to provide a Housing Assistance Fair for residents who may be facing difficulty paying property tax arrears, making mortgage payments or having a host of other issues involving home ownership that could lead to a loss of their homes. The city’s intent is to get people the right information and assistance before its too late.
WRO’s specialists to answer questions relating to property tax arrears, loan modification and the New York State Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP). They will also advise individuals on how to qualify for senior citizen assistance and make referrals for free legal service for qualified individuals and provide first time home buying program information.
This event is co-sponsored by the City of Mount Vernon and free of charge. Participants are asked to sign up with Westchester Residential Opportunities Inc. at www.wroinc.org, by fax to 914-428-9455 or by calling 914-428-4507. Fax requests should include name, address and what topic you are interested. The deadline for reservations is March 30, 2015. The Recreation Department will be holding an OSHA training graduation ceremony for temporary and seasonal workers on Wednesday, March 18 at 11 a.m. in the Doles Community Center Theatre at 250 South 6 Avenue. The city offered this training in an effort to equip these workers with more marketable training to compete in a competitive job market. The training, conducted by Andre Wallace of Creative Construction and Design, was financed by the Westchester/Putnam Workforce Workforce Investment Board & OneStop Employment Center and Southern Westchester BOCES. Following the ceremony light refreshments will be served.
