Con Edison will store material and equipment alongside the road while they work and may need to excavate parts of sidewalks, driveways, or lawns. Temporary repairs for phase 1 will be completed in 4 weeks. Temporary repairs for phase 2 will be completed 3-4 weeks from the start of phase 2. Permanent restoration of streets, sidewalks and lawn areas are scheduled for the spring.
If property owners have any private facilities such as sprinkler lines or electric dog fences buried in their lawn, please let Con Edison know.
If your service is temporarily interrupted while new gas lines are connected, Con Edison will need access to your gas appliances to restore your service. You will be notified in advance so an appointment can be scheduled when you will be home to let them in. Before letting any into you home ask for identification.
If you are not home when crews have completed their work, please call 1-800-75-CONED (1-800-752-6633) as soon as you return for prompt restoration of your service.

The City Council Committee Meeting scheduled to be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. has been cancelled due to inclement weather conditions.
The City Council Committee Meeting has been rescheduled and will be held on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Following, the Committee of the Whole and Legislative meeting of the City Council will begin at 7:00 p.m. as scheduled.
City Hall will be open for business during normal hours today. Streets are passable and motorists should continue to use caution. Please check with departments for specific programs and/or activities that may be delayed or cancelled.
The major storm heading toward our area is expected to hit hard later this evening. There’s still a little time to get out and pick up essentials and run a few errands before the worst of the weather hits us. Mayor Ernest D. Davis has issued a State of Emergency effective for 5 pm this afternoon. It is suggested that people seek shelter and remain indoors until the storm subsides tomorrow.
High winds and low visibility during storm may whiteout conditions that will make driving and walking dangerous. The city is encouraging motorists to stay off of the roads during the height of the storm and is encouraging everyone to stay indoors unless it is absolutely necessary to go outdoors. All Recreation and Youth Bureau activities have been suspended until further notice.
A warming center will be set up at the Armory located at North 5th and North Street and will open at 5:30 p.m. this evening for residents needing shelter.
Motorists are advised to keep snow emergency streets cleared and to find parking in other locations. Open air city lots can be used for temporary parking for residents who normally park along snow emergency streets.

schedule of programs and services until Wednesday, January 28th, unless otherwise noted. Please

Community Center operations:
The Doles Center and the Armory will close at 1:30pm on Monday, January 26, 2015 and remain
closed until Wednesday, January 28th, if weather condition permit. Please call the above phone number
Senior Programs and Home Delivered Meals
All programs are discontinued until Wednesday, January 28th. Seniors receive home delivered meals
will be given two regular meals for Monday and Tuesday and an emergency meal for Wednesday.
Normal home delivered meals will resume on Thursday, January 29th unless inclement weather
conditions prohibit delivery.
Sports Underdome at Hutchinson Field is closed and all programs are canceled for the rest of the
week. Normal operation will resume on Saturday, January 31st.
The Rose Simon (at Armory), Pennington After-school, and Doles Center Boxing Programs are
canceled for Monday, January 26th, and Tuesday, January 27th. Normal operation will resume on
Wednesday, January 28th, if MVCSD is in session.
The City Council Radio Show scheduled to be held on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. has been cancelled due to impending inclement weather conditions.
