CON ED RESOLVING STREET LIGHT ISSUES

Residents concerned about dark streets  will see the light this evening in some neighborhoods. Since October the city has been working with Con Edison to resolve electrical issues affecting street lighting in the city. Today Con Edison crews corrected major issues preventing lighting under the Cross County Parkway on Columbus Avenue. Public Works crews report that the Columbus Avenue problem is now 90 percent  resolved. Con Edison is now working on outages in the Hartley Avenue area and residents there will also be seeing the light at night very soon.

Over the past month 13 outstanding tickets affecting streetlights in neighborhoods throughout the city have been closed by Con Ed, turning the lights back on for residents along dark city streets.
