Understanding the Affordable Care Act – Small Business Help Available

Small businesses in Mount Vernon have an opportunity to prepare for ensuring they are in compliance with  their responsibilities when the Affordable Care Act becomes effective January 1, 2014. The Affordable Care Act is a law that ensures all Americans have access to quality, affordable health care and significantly reduces long-term health care costs

As part of its ongoing mission to build bridges to business, The Business Council of Westchester has teamed with the Community Service Society of NY  to educate small businesses on requirements of the federal health reform law, known as the Affordable Care Act (ACA).

On June 4th and June 25th the organizations  will be at the Mount Vernon Library (28 S.1st Avenue) from 12 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. to help small business owners understand their rights and responsibilities as an employer. They will also offer information on tax credits for small business that offer health insurance to their employees and provide an overview of the  ‘new” New York State Health Exchange.
