A National Historic Landmark landscape, the garden, founded in 1891, boasts one of the world’s greatest collections of plants on 250 acres. Besides gardens and plant collections, over 30,000 trees can be found on the grounds of this Bronx plantlife sanctuary.
The orchid exhibition is the largest in the country. For the past 10 years visitors from across the country travel to the Garden to view its lush landscape featuring 300 varieties of orchids among 5,000 plants. A vertical display in the Shop in the Garden is available for visitors to take a sample home with them.
