Legal Notice – Rehab – 169 Hillside Avenue

LEGAL NOTICE

RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS:  Sealed proposals on forms prepared by the Department of Planning and Community Development will be received by the Mount Vernon Urban Renewal Agency until 10:00 AM on  Wednesday, August 8, 2012 for rehabilitation of  one (1) privately owned building(s) located in the City of Mount Vernon, New York at:                       

                                                            169 Hillside Avenue

 The above project(s) shall be bid in separate components and are expected to be funded through the Community Development Block Grant Program.  Renovation funds are a direct loan to the owner of said premises and shall be administered by the Mount Vernon Urban Renewal Agency.

 OBTAINING DOCUMENTS:  Plans, Specifications and other applicable Contract Documents may be obtained at the Department of Planning and Community Development, City Hall,Roosevelt Square,Mount Vernon,New York.

 TRADES:  Plans and/or Specifications for the above project(s) require work performed in the following trades:

 ROOFING, GENERAL CONSRTUCTION, INCLUCDING LEAD SAFE WORK PRACTICES

 All contractors must be duly qualified and licensed to perform required work, including Lead Safe Work Practices.

 PROPOSAL SUBMISSION:  Each proposal must be wholly filled out on the forms provided and must be enclosed in a sealed envelope with a description of above title on the outside of the envelope.  The name and address of the person(s) submitting the proposal must appear on the envelope which should be addressed to the Department of Planning and Community Development, City Hall,Roosevelt Square,Mount Vernon,NY.

 FEDERAL FUNDS:  Funds from the Community Development Block Grant Program of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development are being utilized to finance approximately  100%  of this project and is subject to all applicable requirements of  H.U.D. including but not limited to those pertaining to equal opportunity in employment, Executive Order 11246, as amended, Section 3 of the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968 (Compliance in provisions of Training Employment and Business Opportunities), as amended. This project is subject to Federal and Davis Bacon Wage Requirements.

 OWNERS RIGHTS RESERVED:  The Mount Vernon Urban Renewal Agency of the City ofMount Vernon, hereinafter called the Agency, on behalf of the Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive any formality or any technicality in any proposal in the interest of the Owner and the Agency.

 BID OPENING:  Proposals will be publicly opened and read at 10:01 AM sharp (local time) on August 8, 2012, at the Department of  Planning and Community Development, City Hall, Roosevelt Square, Mount Vernon, NY 10550.

 No bids may be withdrawn for a period of 45 business days from the date of opening of Proposals.
